LEE HOO CHANG holds a Ph.D. in Sculpture from Hongik University and has presented 37 solo exhibitions and participated in over 470 group exhibitions both in Korea and abroad. His work has been featured in major international art fairs such as Art New York, Art Palm Springs, CONTEXT Art Miami, as well as exhibitions throughout China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore—receiving significant recognition and acclaim.
In 2011, he was awarded the Ha Jung-woong Art Award by the Gwangju Museum of Art. In 2017, he was voted “Most Popular Artist” by tens of thousands of visitors at the Seoul International Sculpture Festa. He was selected for the 1st Artist-Curator Critique Workshop at Arko Art Center in 2009, and was named an outstanding artist by the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation, the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture, and the Arts Council Korea in 2009–2010.
His contributions have also been recognized with official commendations: from the Mayor of Gwacheon in 2015, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Commissioner in 2018, and the Governor of Gyeonggi Province in 2021. Since 2014, he has served as Executive Director of the Seoul International Sculpture Festa, Korea’s largest sculpture festival. He currently serves as Secretary General of both the Korean Sculptors Association and the Korea Visual Artists Copyright Association, while also actively teaching in universities and cultural institutions.
In addition to his fine art practice, LEE HOO CHANG has appeared in national TV commercials—for example, as a model for the Prugio Summit apartment campaign—and has worked as a visual art director for numerous popular films and TV dramas. Known for his dynamic collaborations and broad cultural engagement, he continues to receive enthusiastic response at international exhibitions, including recent sold-out shows in New York.
