Strawberry Day

Kiki Lin

2025

Mineral pigment, oriental paper

Description

When I wash strawberries in the field, their soft and delicate touch—so fragile that they cannot be handled roughly—feels like a reflection of my own painting process.

At first glance, they may all look the same, yet on closer inspection, each one is different: some green, some red, some large, some small, some amusingly plump, and even heart-shaped ones that seem to confess their love to me.

Each strawberry is like a tiny jewel, just like people—every one of us is unique, with our own traits and value. We all deserve to be cherished and cared for.
